Michal Shavit

Michal Shavit works in publishing and as a consultant, and for over twenty-five years has worked at the intersection of ideas, international affairs, culture and public engagement. She has worked with some of the world’s most influential writers and thinkers, helping transform original ideas and stories into publishing successes that have shaped public conversation and reached many readers globally.

Alongside her continuing work in publishing, Michal is increasingly bringing her experience to the field of conflict resolution. She is particularly interested in the role of storytelling and narrative in shaping how we see ourselves and others, and in how narratives influence both conflict and the possibilities for resolving it. A particular focus of her work is how public and political dialogue can shift from militarism towards conflict prevention, mediation and other forms of peaceful resolution.

Michal studied Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford, and holds a postgraduate degree in the Theory and History of International Relations from the London School of Economics, where she specialised in the Middle East. She joined Oxford Process as a Special Advisor in summer 2026.
